Greenhouse effect

Greenhouse effect

The greenhouse effect is a natural process where gases like carbon dioxide, methane, and water vapor in the atmosphere trap heat from the sun. These gases allow sunlight to enter and warm the Earth's surface but hinder some of the heat from escaping, similar to how glass panels function in a greenhouse.

Human activities, such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation, have greatly increased the levels of these greenhouse gases. This amplified greenhouse effect accelerates global warming and disrupts climate patterns, impacting ecosystems worldwide. Managing and reducing greenhouse gas emissions are crucial steps in mitigating these effects and safeguarding the planet's future sustainability.
