Dr. Farhang Aliyari obtained his BSc (Geology) from the University Urmia and his MSc and PhD (Economic Geology) from the Trabiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran. He is previously worked for the National Iranian Copper Industries (NICICO) in the Ahar-Arasbaran and Kerman porphyry copper belts of Tethyan Metallogenic Belt as exploration geologist. His PhD research was based on the application of fluid inclusions, stable isotope signatures, U-Pb geocheronology, and structural controls for the exploration of orogenic gold mineralization in the Zartorosht deposit, southern Sanandaj-Sirjan Zone, Southeast of Iran. He currently lectures Economic Geology, Exploration Geochemistry, Structural Geology, and Exploration Drilling at the Urmia University of Technology, Urmia, Iran. His area of interest is stable isotopes, fluid inclusions, U-Pb and Re-Os geochronology, and geochemistry of gold and porphyry systems. He has published various papers in peer reviewed journals.
