Biography:
Professor Dorrik Stow FRSE is an internationally renowned expert in geoscience and oceanography, with 50 years experience in modern, ancient and subsurface sediments, over 300 scientific publications, numerous books and edited volumes. He has led scientific missions to all the major oceans and worked in over 50 countries across the world. He is currently Emeritus Professor at Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh, UK), Distinguished Professor at China University of Geoscience (Wuhan, China), Visiting JSPS Fellow at Gakugei University (Tokyo, Japan) and Leverhulme Emeritus fellow. Professor Stow is an enthusiastic lecturer and speaker on everything from deep-sea turbidites to the Lost Tethys Ocean.
