I am Dimitri Akubardia, PhD student in Earth Sciences (Geophysics) at Ilia State University, Tbilisi, Georgia. At the same time, I work at the Institute of Earth Sciences and National Seismic Monitoring Centre, at the Department of Applied Geophysics at Ilia State University. After graduating from the Georgian Technical University (in 2008), I have started working at the department of applied geophysics and seismic network at Institute of Earth Sciences, Ilia State University. At the same time, I have been enrolled at Ilia State University for my master’s studies in geophysics. I became interested in near-surface geophysics and have focused on it. In 2011 I received a master's degree. I have been a participant in various projects, including the construction of dams, highways, bridges, tunnels and multifunctional buildings. My research interests are to learn about local soil conditions in Georgia and use them for GMPEs and site-dependent seismic hazard assessment.
